VENUE: The Cube theatre
Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and our Youth & Community Partner Bendigo Bank are excited to announce that the July installment of FREE4YOUth with Bendigo Bank will be held in The Cube, BREC's new theatre, featuring a performance by Triple J Unearthed Groovin the Moo winners The Acitones!
Hailing from Margaret River, The Acitones are a six-piece band that formed in 2012 and have since supported Darryl Braithwaite as well as opening up the Bunbury leg of the 2014 Groovin the Moo festival. The Acitones will bring the sweet mellow sounds of indie pop rock to the stage, and are sure to be a knockout at this month's FREE4YOUth.
Presented as part of our Grand Opening Festival, FREE4YOUth with Bendigo Bank will be held straight after school on Thursday 24 April and promises 90 minutes of FREE fun backstage at BREC for anyone aged between 12 and 25.
Young people can turn up on the day, enter through backstage and be ready for load of fun and free stuff. As well as the live performance by The Acitones, there will be music, snacks, soft drink and plenty of giveaways from the Centre.
As well as encouraging young people to enjoy live theatre through the plethora of high calibre shows on offer, BREC aims to inspire young people to become actively involved with their local theatre and start a genuine conversation about how they would like to engage with the Centre.
FREE4YOUth with Bendigo Bank is just one of the many initiatives in place as a result of BREC's partnership with Bendigo Bank. The initiatives aim to make the performing arts more accessible to the South West's youth community. A strong focus is to provide young people with a socially inclusive environment where they can experience the performing arts in a way they otherwise would not be able to.
