VALENTINES DAY 2019: BE SELFISH!
25 January 2019
Valentine’s Day, you either love it or hate it. But there’s no denying its existence. Before you can say happy New Year the shelves of your favourite stores are brimming with heart shaped boxes and stuffed bears. Great for those in a relationship but not so great for the singles. If you find yourself alone on February 14th here’s five things you can do to make the most of the holiday!
#1 Send yourself flowers
Who says you need a secret admirer to get flowers? Go out and buy some for yourself – you deserve it!
#2 Buy yourself your favourite things
You know that amazing chocolate cake from the café down the road or that candle you’ve been lusting over? Treat yourself, buy them and remember how lucky you are you don’t have to share!
#3 Buy yourself a puppy
There’s no better love than that of a pet. And what better than a cute, fluffy puppy? You’ll never feel alone or unloved again!
#4 Try something new
Have you been itching to try something new? Now’s the time to do it, step out of your comfort zone and take that cooking class or head to your local theatre for a new experience!
#5 Get your closest friends together and go out
Valentine’s Day isn’t just for loved up couples. Grab your closet girlfriends and head out for an evening on the town.
The most important thing to remember is you don’t need a partner to enjoy Valentine’s. There’s no need to feel upset, just surround yourself with the people and things you love and have a great night out. Better yet go for a cocktail then settle in for an evening of exciting live theatre at BREC, with the contemporary theatre show I Want to Know What Love Is.
