 Act Belong Commit YOH Fest

The most exciting youth performing and visual arts experience in the State

Come and join us in this celebration of youth creativity as school students combine the fun of the arts with health education to share their story around this year’s theme ‘Wellness’ in front of YOH Fest judges and the broader community, as they challenge themselves in this Statewide competition.

We are travelling across WA to find the best performances and most power health messages with the top performances invited to participate at the State Grand Finals in October in Mandurah.

The 2022 Annual Health Theme Is “Wellness”

Each year a relevant youth health issue is chosen as the Act Belong Commit YOH Fest theme.

All YOH Fest productions are to be based around this theme.

Wellness is about thriving, not just surviving.  It is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis that prioritise physical, mental and social well-being.  But is this easier said than done?  Is a life of wellness attainable or is it booby trapped with trends, fads and diets?  How can we focus on the things that are most important – fueling our body, engaging our mind and nurturing our spirit – so that we can feel good, be our best selves and squeeze the most out of life.

In 2022 we are challenging participants to explore what wellness means to them.  Entries who creatively tell their stories of the young people involved and embed strategies for achieving wellness (hint…Act Belong Commit) will be rewarded by the judges.

Encourage your students to think about the theme in the context of their own lives, this is an opportunity for them to tell their own stories. Creativity is rewarded.

As per our Healthway contract, we must stress that the simulation and brand promotion of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Failure to abide by this will result in disqualification of your item.
