Culture/Nature Film Screening
Scenes from the Chthulucene | Bunbury Biennale
In celebration of the Bunbury Biennale 2023 Culture / Nature, join us for a screening of two documentaries that explore approaches to making kin with our non-human earthlings.
6:30pm – The Tree Prophet
by Tucker Marder & Christian Scheider
The Tree Prophet follows the infamous, self-identified tree prophet David Milarch, chronicling his moonshot mission to negate the effects of climate change by re-populating the world’s decimated old-growth forests with “Champion Trees.”
The Tree Prophet premiered at the Santa Monica Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the San Fransisco Independent Film Festival.
7:00pm – The Black Cockatoo Crisis
by Jane Hammond
Western Australia’s black cockatoos are heading for the extinction canyon. They need our help.
The documentary film, released in November 2022, tells the story of the plight of these special birds. The social impact campaign that surrounds the film aims to help make the change that is needed.
