Flee (M)

Academy Award nominated Flee tells the true story of Amin Nawabi, an Afghan refugee with a painful secret he has hidden for 20 years and now threatens to derail his life.

Made with a striking blend of animation, intimate interviews, ‘80s music and archive footage, Flee details an unforgettable story of self-discovery and relentless will to survive.

Demark’s Oscar entry for Best International Feature Film, and winner of over 20 film awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, FLEE uncovers a remarkable true story.

Amin Nawabi is an Afghan refugee who grapples with a painful secret he kept hidden for 20 years, which now threatens to derail the life he has built for himself and his soon to be husband.

Revealing his story for the first time to director Jonas Poher Rasmussen, his close friend and high-school classmate, Amin recounts the extraordinary journey he undertook as a child refugee from Afghanistan to Denmark. Made with a striking blend of animation, intimate interviews between Jonas and Amin, ‘80s music and archive footage, Flee details an unforgettable story of self-discovery and relentless will to survive.

Flee made history with three Academy Award nominations for international feature film, documentary feature and animated feature.
