Of Love and Lies is an uplifting story of the power of a child’s love, and the lengths that one boy will go to help get his father’s life back on track.

Irrepressible twelve year old Theo is a gifted soccer player who has enough talent to one day go pro, if not for his diminutive stature. His loving father has been on a self-destructive spiral as he’s struggled to deal with both retrenchment and the end of his marriage.

An opportunity comes when Theo is invited to try out for the youth training programme of English football club Arsenal. Theo sees this as a chance to rekindle his father’s hope, but despite his best efforts is not selected. Not having the heart to disappoint his father Theo lies and says he was. Overjoyed his father puts all of his heart into helping his son prepare for this “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”; gradually regaining his taste for life and motivation for the future. The lie soon reaches unforeseen proportions and engulfs everyone around as Theo tries to hide the truth.
