BREC celebrates local talent with musical theatre production, Cascades.
Written by Harvey local Don Marshall, directed by his daughter, Kristi Crognale and choreographed by granddaughter, Demi Crognale, Cascades The Musical is a true celebration of grassroots performing arts.
With a cast of 24 children and five adults, backed by the Harvey Community Choir, this musical theatre production tells the story of seven convict women who were incarcerated at Cascades Female Factory, a former convict workhouse in Tasmania, and survived against the odds. A sold out sensation at its recent premiere season in Harvey, this performance features strong women and little known stories of resilience from our colonial history.
This is the final instalment in BREC’s Reboot series, so if you’ve been thinking about coming back to BREC or maybe coming for the first time – this is your last chance to hit reboot!
Reboot is supported by Lotterywest.
