A down-on-his-luck fisherman and a young man with Down Syndrome bent on achieving an impossible dream make their way down the waterways of America’s South.
A modern Mark Twain-like adventure story, The Peanut Butter Falcon tells the tale of Tyler (Shia LaBeouf) a crab fisherman living in poverty and Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down Syndrome who dreams of attending professional wrestling school. Both seeking adventure and escape, their two stories collide and their journey down the waterways of America’s South begins. Together they drink whiskey, find God, catch fish and convince Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a nurse charged with Zak’s return, to join them on their travels.
Winner of the SXSW Audience Award, The Peanut Butter Falcon features breathtaking widescreen cinematography and is a picturesque debut feature from writers and directors Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is a goofy, big-hearted comedy reminiscent of a timeless Americana.
