BREC In House Artist Heads To Kolyang

BREC is proud to announce that our in-house Artist, Nathan Gardiner, is one of two South West Artists to be selected for the Kolyang Creative Hub this August presented by Performing Lines WA.

Nathan Gardiner is a multidisciplinary visual and performance artist who says ‘the past 2-3 years have been very much about participatory engagement projects for communities and specifically children and young adults’.

Kolyang Creative Hub will host 26 West Australian artists with a variety of disciplines over 3 weeks at Subiaco Arts Centre.

Performing Lines describes this initiative further: “In total, 26 Western Australian mid-to-senior career artists have been selected by our Artist Advisory and Performing Lines WA, ensuring a balanced and diverse range of background, artistic discipline, and experience.”

The 3-week residency focuses on intentional relationship building and practice sharing between artists and the WA sector. Kolyang Creative Hub is structured around studio practice and exploration, long tables and small group discussions, workshops and panel sessions, some of which will be open to the public.

Margaret River writer, producer, puppet and theatre maker, Sky River, is also heading to the Kolyang Creative Hub. Both artists will use the hub to develop ideas and projects to present locally in the future.
