BREC International Film Festival – Winter 2021

BREC is excited to launch the BREC International Film Festival Winter 2021 program. Film lovers are invited to immerse themselves in the unique array of films on offer from all over the globe.

It is about time to bring the world back to the City of Bunbury and experience this diverse selection of Australian and international films right here in the South West.

The program curated by the BREC Team for this winter’s Festival features films in French, Italian, Persian, Romanian, Swedish, Maori, Spanish — and even the intriguing language of pigs and chickens.

“It is a great joy to bring you these eleven films for our Winter 2021 program. Be brave and choose one you’re not sure about along with the ones you can’t wait to see!” said BREC’s Executive Director Fiona de Garis. The Cinesaver five-ticket pass is back and is great value for those who struggle to settle on just one film.

Lovers of Cinema are invited to expand their festival experience at the cosy Festival Hub. Offering a vibrant selection of some of the finest South West musicians, delicious festival food and the return of Conversation Club sessions, the Hub is the perfect place to reflect on the Festival program and to winter “thaw”.

Book club style conversations inspired by BREC International Film Festival selections, My Name is Gulpilil and Sound of Metal will be hosted by passionate film facilitators. They will share their unique perspectives as they invite all participants to discuss, debate and deliberate these outstanding films.

BREC is grateful to the wonderful partners of the BREC International Film Festival, the City of Bunbury and Bunbury Geographe.

Fiona de Garis concluded: “I look forward to chatting with you in our Festival Hub. There are so many films I can’t wait to see. Let the Festival begin!”
