Long-serving and highly respected BREC Board Member Ray Frisina was honoured as the inaugural Life Member of BREC. Chairman of the Board of Management, Simon Jacob presented the prestigious honour to Mr Frisina in front of 70 guests attending the Partner Sundowner event held on the Stage One Theatre at BREC.
“Mr Frisina was chosen as the inaugural Life Member of BREC for his exceptional service to BREC throughout his 15 years’ service on the BREC Board of Management.” said Mr Jacob.
“We are delighted to honour Ray in this way now as he retires from the BREC Board. His expertise and dedication have made a significant contribution to our strategic direction and the vital role BREC plays in providing arts and culture in the region. The South West community have benefitted for many years from Mr Frisina’s considerable experience in relation to business and accounting and from his passion for BREC,” continues Mr Jacob.
Mr Frisina was instrumental in assisting BREC during the transition to more complex financial reporting based on business centres after the opening of the venue’s new facilities in 2014, which expanded BREC’s conference and events capacity, film and performing arts business.
“I feel very humbled to receive this honour from BREC,” said Mr Frisina. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Board and feel very fortunate to have served at such an exciting time in BREC’s history. I have made many friendships and I’m very grateful to have worked with many committed and talented Board members during the expansion process of the building. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the incoming Board great success for the future,” continues Mr Frisina.
Life Membership of BREC is a new initiative to honour the exceptional service provided to BREC.
“So many people have contributed so much to BREC over the years, we look forward to receiving more nominations and recognising the exceptional contribution made by others with a Life Member award in future,” said Mr Jacob.
