MEET Evan, one of BREC’s Production Technicians

What is your role at BREC and how long have you worked here?

I’m a production technician, and I’m the newest of the lot! I’ve been here for around a year now, and my role is to assist with the technical setup and running of shows. My main focus is audio, as that’s something I’ve been passionate about my whole life, but lights and AV have their fun moments too!

What is your favourite part of working at BREC?

Constantly being challenged! Every show that comes in has different tech needs, and it’s up to us to make that all happen for them. I love that every day here means I learn something new that I can add to my skillset. Of course, the people I get to work with are also incredible, and this job has led to some really strong friendships which I am so grateful for. Working surrounded by such creative people is so inspiring and always exciting.

What was your favourite show, event or experience at BREC?

Cosentino, by far! As part of the show, he had to throw a flaming spear at me (to catch, of course) and by some miracle we didn’t burn the place down…seriously, who else can say their job is that awesome? But in all seriousness, it’s hard to pick any real standouts because like I said before, everything that comes through is unique and always exciting.
