MEET Evan, BREC’s Senior Production Technician

What is your role at BREC and how long have you worked here?

My role is Senior Production Technician, specifically Audio, although I am involved in all facets of tech production. I have been a technician at BREC since August 2017.

What is your favourite part of working at BREC?

My favourite part about working at BREC is the feeling of family that gets instilled by working here, as the years have gone by, colleagues have come and gone – but what stays the same is the family vibe. Not to mention utilising professional equipment at a professional venue, the amazing acts and professional touring techs that come through that I am always able to learn something from. Borrowing a microphone now and again is certainly a perk too!

What was your favourite show, event or experience at BREC?

There are truly too many to choose from… I had a blast mixing my old colleague Codee-Lee’s CD launch in the Cube, it had such a nice vibe, and the music was awesome. The Roofgoats are right up there in my favourite gigs list, a show with wonderful local musicians that were super cool to be around. Rockwiz is always good, the production of House was awesome, Bluey was awesome, and it would be remiss of me not to mention the SWOC production of Les Misérables – which was certainly the toughest but most rewarding production I’ve ever been a part of.
