MEET GEORGIA, one of BREC’s Board Members

How long have you been a member of the BREC board and what expertise / experience do you bring to the role?

I joined the BREC board in 2021. I bring 20 years’ experience in Arts Management and Marketing. I have worked in arts organisations across the country include 5 years running a successful consultancy working with Perth based arts orgs to develop marketing and fundraising strategies. I bring a deep understanding of the challenges that the arts industry has faced throughout COVID and support the team where I can.

What’s your favourite part of being a part of the BREC Board of Management?

The BREC Board is a group of passionate volunteers that truly love the organisation and everything BREC does. It’s great to be part of the conversations that ensure the continued sustainability and legacy for an organisation that is so important to the local community.

Please share your most memorable show, event or experience you’ve had at the BREC?

The Smallest Stage that was presented as part of the 2022 Perth Festival was a beautiful and unique work. To have produced a piece of their that stayed true to its heart while elevating to the professional level in the Festival environment is a great achievement for BREC. I can’t wait to see this work have a continued life. It is a great example of the intrinsic impact an arts organisation can have on artists and the community.
