Winter Film Festival Line-Up Announced

Escape the winter gloom with BREC’s Winter Film Festival. The festival is set to return 24th July. Running until 29th July the festival will showcase a plethora of sensational international films.

The 2017 Winter Film Festival includes the Italian Comedy, Perfect Strangers, will have you laughing, and questioning the three lives of your partner, their personal, public and private life as lifelong friends do the unthinkable and share the contents of their smartphones.

For a sharp contrast see the German drama, Frantz. Set in the aftermath WW1 Germany, the film explores delicate emotional state of German citizens as they navigate loss and sorrow in rural Germany.

If a crime drama is more your style, then the Chilean film Neruda is for you. Following the popular poet and Communist Senator Pablo Neruda as he denounces the communist repression and goes into hiding from arrest. A cat and mouse game unfolds between the authorities and Neruda as he avoids arrest.

Fans of the BREC Summer Film Festival will remember Isabelle Hupert in her Oscar winning role in Elle. Isabelle returns to the BREC silver screen with her heart-warming new film, Things to Come, a beautiful French film finds a middle-aged philosophy professor on a new journey of self-discovery after her unforeseen divorce.

Interested in the behind the scenes action of the world’s oldest national ballet company, the Paris Opera Ballet? Join renowned choreographer, dancer and Director of the Paris Opera Ballet, Benjamin Millepied as he challenges the old guard in one of the most traditional ballet establishments in the world.

If something light, easy and hilarious is more your style, the French absurdist comedy Slack Bay will have you in hysterics. True to the unique genre, Slack Bay is full of quirky comedy, odd-ball characters and puzzling plot points.
