MEET Steve, one of BREC’s production technicians

What is your role at BREC and how long have you worked here?

I am one of the production technicians here at BREC, recently I have been moving towards lighting however when I first started working here I mainly did Mechanist work and a bit of sound here and there. I have been working here since early 2016.

What is your favourite part of working at BREC?

Aside from the job itself being a blast honestly my favourite thing about this job is all the amazing people I have met here. I have met so many incredible people here and I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.

What was your favourite show, event or experience at BREC?

Honestly this is a very hard thing to decide, from all the local performances like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Fiddler on the Roof to our staff gatherings and get-togethers to all of the larger shows that have come through like Cosentino, House and the recent performance that was put on by Amy Shark. Funnily enough though I think my favourite show was probably the very first show that I had the luck of working on which was a circus back in 2016, I will never forget their crew showing us tricks backstage and juggling with them.
