CREATIVE COMPETITION Create a creature that belongs in your world to win a Family Pass to Hometown.

What kind of creature could be hiding in your hometown. What is its name? Where does it live? What makes it special? Is it friendly, fierce, funny or a little bit strange? Your creature can be anything you imagine.
We want to see the wonderful creatures that live in YOUR hometown. Draw it. Name it. Tell us its story.

All creative Competition entries will be displayed in the Gallery of Hometown Creatures before the show.
Entries close on Monday 2 August 2027, but any late submissions will still be added to the gallery.

Enter a world of extraordinary creatures and awe-inspiring landscapes with Hometown, a new puppet musical inspired by a story by Shaun Tan.

See the world through the eyes of a young girl as she faces a life-changing choice: stay with the family who has lovingly raised her, or venture into the unknown to discover a new world and a family she’s yet to meet.

Brought to life by an award-winning creative team in a masterful collaboration with one of Australia’s most successful graphic novelists, Hometown weaves a visually stunning tale about connection, belonging, and the power of love to conquer fear and break down prejudices.
