This course is designed to give patrons a deeper connection with Noongar Language and Culture before West Australia Opera’s upcoming performances of Wundig wer Wilura in Concert at BREC.

Noongar Waangkiny (Language) & Culture Program

This November we welcome West Australia Opera to BREC with Wundig wer Wilura in Concert. This acclaimed new opera from award-winning songwriters and storytellers Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse is sung in Noongar Language.

To prepare for this occasion, we invite you to join our 10 week Noongar Waangkiny (Language) & Culture Program.

Led by Karen Jetta from BILYA Moorditjabiny Training Service, come along and improve your Noongar Language skills and knowledge about indigenous culture.

Here’s what you need to know

  • This program is free.
  • Classes are held on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00pm at BREC.
  • Classes run over 10 weeks: August 13, 20, 27, September 3, 10, 17, 24, October 15, 22, 29
  • Participants must have a ticket to Wundig wer Wilura in Concert.
  • Participants of all ages are welcome – Under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult.
