Marcelo is a technology researcher on the run in 1977 during Brazil’s notorious military dictatorship.

He heads to his hometown of Recife for respite and refuge.

Arriving during the raucous celebrations of Carnival, Marcelo is welcomed by a colourful community of political refugees, however it doesn’t take long for an insidious atmosphere of surveillance, paranoia and danger to encompass him.

To find freedom, Marcelo must dodge the hitmen on his trail, navigate endless webs of corruption, and journey deep into the dysfunction and death-soaked darkness of a nation hurtling toward social, political, and moral collapse.
