All That’s Left of You
اللي باقي منك

In 1948, as Israeli forces advance on the Palestinian city of Jaffa, a young man named Sharif watches his family’s citrus orchards, their ancestral land, and their entire world be taken from them. He carries this wound for the rest of his life — in exile, in silence, in the way he raises his son.

Told across four acts spanning 1948 to 2022, All That’s Left of You follows three generations of the Hammad family through the defining ruptures of Palestinian history: the Nakba, the occupation of the West Bank, the intifadas, and the present. The film is structured as a mother’s testimony — Hanan (Cherien Dabis), wife and anchor of the family, recounts their story to an unseen presence after a pivotal moment pulls everything apart.

At the centre of the drama is the relationship between Salim (Saleh Bakri) — Sharif’s son, raised in the shadow of displacement — and his own son Noor. A chance encounter with IDF soldiers forces a moment of humiliation that fractures the bond between father and child, setting in motion a chain of events that will define the family for decades.

All That’s Left of You is, above all, a film about inheritance: what we pass down to those we love, whether we mean to or not. It is a drama of piercing emotional intimacy set against a canvas of historical devastation — and it asks, quietly but insistently, whether healing is possible when the wound is still open.

“Both intimate and epic — a sweeping family saga that covers three generations of history and struggle through a deeply personal lens.” – The Hollywood Reporter

“Dabis shows the dispossession of Palestinian property with historical rigour and genuine cinematic grandeur. There’s a refreshing resistance to false balance.” – Cineuropa
